In Spring, 2023, Sea Aire Oceanfront Inn hired an ADA consultant to assist us in making our Inn more accessible to comply with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). Having opened in 1950, you can imagine the facility does not meet modern standards for accessibility. We are working diligently to make improvements to the property that will help more people enjoy it to its fullest.
Guest with questions about the accessibility of the property are welcome and encouraged to contact us. Please call the office at 321-783-2461.
To assist you in making an informed decision about whether we can meet your particular needs, please be aware of the following:
• PARKING
When originally constructed, there were no ADA-compliant parking spaces, The parking area is the original surface and the path from the parking lot to the office and rooms is not paved. We are working with contractors to assess the best solution to make this area ADA compliant.
• MAIN PATHWAYS
The pathway from the public sidewalk and from the parking lot to the facility is a grassy area with staggered paver bricks. There is also a sidewalk from the gravel lot. When you reach the lobby, there is a small step up into the lobby area. This area is being included in the feasibility study our contractors are preparing.
• CHECK-IN
In the interim, our office staff will be happy to come to the parking lot to assist with the check in process during office hours, until the above projects are completed. Please call 321-783-2461 to arrange assistance.Additionally, we have purchased a desk for the lobby that is ADA compliant and are awaiting shipment.
• ROOMS (MOBILITY)
We are completing a due diligence study to obtain plans on how to best convert one of our rooms into an accessible room for guests with mobility concerns. Until further notice, guests with mobility concerns may have difficulty accessing our rooms and bathrooms.
• ROOMS (COMMUNICATIONS)
We have purchased a tty phone and is available to our guests upon request. There are no phones in the individuals rooms
• BEACH/PICNIC ACCESS
The path to the beach and picnic pavilion is paved, but does not meet modern standards for accessibility (such as width, slope, and maneuvering space). We have prioritized improving this access.
• FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
The fire extinguishers on property have been lowered to ADA height.Guest with questions about the accessibility of the property are welcome and encouraged to contact us. Please call the office at 321-783-2461.
